At English Your Way students do not only learn English in order to use it in everyday life, but they are also ready to take various ESOL examinations e.g. Key English Test (KET), Preliminary English Test (PET), First Certificate in English (FCE) and IELTS.

Key English Test is a basic level test which recognises the ability to deal with everyday written and spoken English. Students are ready to take this exam after Book 2 of The Direct Method. It takes about 1 year to prepare a student, who has never learnt English before, to take this exam. The average cost of the course is £1,056 (12 monthly payments of £88). For students who already know some English, the cost will be relatively smaller. The KET course at English Your Way is the equivalent of Entry 3 at many colleges, where the study may take up to 3 academic years, which is 3 times longer than the course with The Direct Method. Preliminary English Test is a general English exam at an intermediate level. It covers all 4 language skills: speaking, listening, writing and reading. Students are ready to take this exam after Stage 6 of The Direct Method. It takes about 1.5 years to prepare a student, who has never learnt English before, for this exam. The average cost of study is £1,584 (18 monthly payments of £88). For students who already know some English, the cost will be relatively smaller. The PET course at English Your Way is equivalent of Level 1 at many colleges and the study there may take up to 4 academic years, which is about 3 times longer than the course with The Direct Method. First Certificate in English (FCE) is an upper-intermediate level exam for people who need to use English language in their everyday life. Students are ready to take the FCE exam after completing 10 stages of The Direct Method. It takes about 2.5 years to prepare a student, who has never learnt English before, to take this exam. The average cost of the course is £2,640 (30 monthly payments of £88). For students who already know some English, the cost will be relatively smaller. The FCE course at English your Way is equivalent to the Level 2 at many colleges and the study there may take up to 5 academic years, which is about twice as long as with The Direct Method. IELTS exam is for those who would like to study in The United Kingdom, as many universities and colleges require a good IELTS score from students before they study or train at their establishment. Students are ready to take this exam after completing all 12 stages of The Direct Method. It takes about 3 years to prepare a student, who has never learnt English before, for this exam. The average cost of the course is £3,168 (36 monthly payments of £88). For students who already know some English, the cost will be relatively smaller. The IELTS courses are offered by many colleges and the study may take up to 6 academic years, which is twice as long as by The Direct Method. For more information about IELTS click here.

The length of the courses as well as the cost may vary depending on the following:

All candidates who have learnt English language before and want to join the upper levels have to do a ‘pre-test’ before qualifying for the course. A ‘Pre-test’ costs £5 and does not mean the student has to start the course. The courses are run throughout the year, however most of them begin in September, October, as well as in February, March and April.
